Beijingers ignore the smog to dance to Pharrell Williams' 'Happy'

The pollution in Beijing may have reached record highs over the last few days, but Beijingers are putting on a brave face. In the city's version of Pharrell Williams' hit song "Happy", residents across the city and of all ages, many in pollution masks, can be seen dancing, laughing, and generally not giving much of a fuck.

The original video for Pharrell's "Happy", has inspired a wave of global imitations, with cities around the world, from Dublin to Hong Kong recording their own versions. Beijing's own unique take was recorded over a single weekend by filmmakers Stephy Chung, Em Jaay and Sarah E Weber.
